Alice in Wonderland - Rating: 5

Very disappointing.  Saw it in 3D and wished I was watching Avatar again.


This was drab 3D with a tinge of like a gray palate over the whole thing.  I kept waiting for the colors to pop and they never did.  Alice of course had to turn into a warrior and there had to be a climactic battle scene.  Cruelty to animals and other violence was played for laughs aimed at the little kids in the audience (they wer laughing gleefully) it was all actually quite upsetting.  There were a few good trippy moments with the Chesire Cat and the bong smoking catepillar and the end was supposed to be a message to young women about self-empowerment.  But the inappropriate violence and dull visuals put a pallor over the whole thing.
